Tribune Coverage of Mameloshn: Lively Yiddish Songs and Stories Honor Maurice Sendak
During December 2011, Mameloshn was involved in several programs including a “Yiddish Shabbes” at Oak Park Temple, “Midwinter Tales” at Unity Temple – A fundraiser for Oak Park’s Festival Theater and Night Ministry, “Sendak Celebration” at Oak Park Public Library with storytellers Belinda Bremner and Jerry Bloom, “Chanukah at the Buzz Café,” “Chanukah” at the North Center Satellite Senior Center, Chicago, and at Lieberman Geriatric Center. In addition, Mameloshn with the assistance of Manny’s Deli, which contributed their grate “Potato Pancake Mix” collected $270 in contributions at the Buzz Café which benefitted the Oak Park Food Pantry.
