Folk Music Shabbat Service, Friday February 10
Folk Music Shabbat Service, Friday February 10, 7 P.M. in the Rotunda. Shabbat Kehillah Dinner prior to the service at 6 pm sponsored by Folk Music Musicians and Friends.
Open Rehearsal for the Folk Music Shabbat Sunday, February 5, 1-3 P.M.
Hi, music friends! What do you say to another folk music singalong Shabbat? Like last time, we’re planning to hold it in the Rotunda, with its bouncy sound, and invite everyone to play or sing along to both new and old songs as part of the night’s Shabbat service. We will incorporate some traditional folk songs into the service, along with some easy-to-learn new pieces. And if we want to stick around afterwards and rock the Oneg with Wagon Wheel and Friend of the Devil and anything else we like, all the better.
At the rehearsal we can play the classics, learn the new pieces and just run through the service. Everyone from the congregation will be welcome to rehearse; it’ll be a fun afternoon. The rehearsal will be over by 3 pm; you'll have plenty of time to get home for the Superbowl.
