10th grade trip to washington dc

Our 10th grade (confirmation) students participated in the L'Taken workshop through the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism January 11-14, 2013.  They joined about 200 other high school students from URJ congregations across the country.   Our 15 students were be led by chaperones Rabbi Weiss and Emily White through an amazing four day DC experience.  On the last day of the program students lobbied on behalf of issues they have chosen to learn about in the offices of both Illinois senators as well as congressional representatives.  Watch the video here of Danny Davis reading their statement on gun violence to the house on January 14.
