Letter from Rabbi Gerson Dear Friends, After much reflection and with the realization that as of August 1, 2009, I will have been your rabbi for 30 years, I have decided to retire as of that date and to become your Rabbi Emeritus. Carol and I will continue to call this community home and will be part of the congregation, which will always be our spiritual home. Still, it will be time for me to explore new and exciting paths and to serve our faith and our people in new directions. With nearly two years until my retirement, I have no doubt that the congregation will find a suitable successor. Until that time, it is my intent to serve the congregation with undiminished enthusiasm and to assist the congregation and the incoming rabbi in the process of transition. It is with a profound sense of honor and gratitude that I look back upon my career as your rabbi, and to a glorious future for the congregation. With affection, Rabbi Gary S. Gerson |
