Oak Park Temple On the Road
Paddle Trip, August 8, 2010.
We had a particularly adventurous paddle trip this year, with rain starting as soon as we pushed off. We’d like to report that Rabbi Weiss said a few words and the rain magically disappeared, but Rabbi Weiss paddled in the rain with the rest of us. We saw lots of ducks, rain being their kind of weather, and several great blue herons. Lorrie Applebey claimed she would rather paddle in the cold and wet than the hot and dry, and she got her wish. And we got in an excellent workout on the return paddle, when we faced a pretty frisky headwind. A great, if wet, time was had by all.
