Join a Chavurah
Would you like to meet more people at Oak Park Temple? Are you away from family and looking for more connections at Jewish holiday time? Are your children out of religious school, and you no longer recognize as many people in the rotunda as you used to? Maybe it's time to join a chavurah.
A chavurah is a small group of seven or eight families within the Temple community that typically meets every four to six weeks for social interaction, Jewish study, community activism, friendship and/or holiday celebration. It can be whatever its members want it to be.
New chavurot are formed every year at OPT for members, new or long-standing. You can also start your own chavurah by identifying people you think would make a congenial group together.
If you are interested in becoming part of a chavurah in formation or in taking the lead in getting a new group going, please call the office.
